Telex is an independent television production company founded by British producer Josh Grant and American writer Jim Gavin, based in London.

Bringing together a producer’s experience of delivering ambitious television and a writer’s instinct for character and story, Telex develops original series and adaptations for audiences around the world.

We are drawn to stories with intelligence, humour and humanity - stories that cross borders, explore different worlds and reveal something universal about the people at their centre.

From drama and comedy to thrillers and literary adaptation, we believe the strongest stories combine distinctive voices with broad appeal: television that entertains, surprises and connects.

Telex works closely with writers and creative partners to develop projects with originality, craft and international potential.

Josh Grant

Josh Grant

Co-Founder · Producer

Josh Grant is an award-winning television producer with extensive experience across scripted comedy, drama and specialist factual programming for the BBC, Channel 4 and international broadcasters.

Josh began his career in scripted television, working across acclaimed comedy and drama series including Horrible Histories, Catastrophe and There She Goes. With experience in programmes across single camera, studio and talent-led environments, Josh works with writers, performers and creative teams to bring distinctive stories to audiences.

Alongside his scripted work, Josh has produced large-scale live events, including BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall, and delivered complex international factual productions across Europe, the Middle East and North America.

Jim Gavin

Jim Gavin

Co-Founder · Writer

Jim Gavin is an American writer based in London.

He is the creator and writer of AMC’s acclaimed series Lodge 49, a warm and unconventional drama about friendship, belonging and the search for meaning in modern life.

Alongside screenwriting, Jim is the author of Middle Men, a collection of short stories. His fiction has appeared in the New Yorker, The Paris Review, and Esquire.

Jim’s work combines humour, humanity and imagination, exploring the extraordinary within everyday lives.
